Eczema, often referred to as atropic eczema, is a skin condition that affects many people at some time in their life. Although it usually affects young children (infantile eczema), it also affects older children, teenagers and young adults. Symptoms of eczema often resurface from time to time. Symptoms of eczema are a rash. Sometimes you may feel itchiness before the rash even appears on your body. This is why eczema is often called “the itch that causes a rash” instead of a rash that causes an itch. Other symptoms are dry, itchy, scaly skin usually on the face, neck, hand and legs. In children, it may also occur on the elbows and knees. They may be patches of redness as well as skin lesions depending on the severity of the eczema. Atropic eczema, although a irritating and bothersome condition, is not serious. It’s important that you be certain that it is eczema you have is not a more serious condition such as Eczema Herpeticum.

Eczema Herpeticum is a variety of the herpes simplex virus infection. Eczema Herpeticum will affect those individuals that are suffering from atropic eczema. Unlike “regular” eczema, which is not serious, eczema Herpeticum will often spread across your entire body. In addition attacking and affecting the pre-existing skin conditions, it may also damage some of your vital organs such as your brain, eyes, liver and lungs. This is why eczema Herpeticum is considered a possibly fatal condition. Hepetic infection should not be taken lightly. Because eczema Herpeticum is considered a dermatological emergency, doctors will usually begin treatment even before the diagnosis is certain, if they suspect the infection is present. The most common treatments for eczema Herpeticum are Valaciclovir and Acyclovir.

Common symptoms of eczema Herpeticum are very dry and itchy skin, which usually is red and inflamed. In some cases, blisters may form on the lesions, ooze puss, and become crusty. Antiviral therapies are usually the treatment that is used for eczema Herpeticum.

Even if you have suffered from eczema in the past, do not always assume that’s what you are developing. It’s better to see a doctor and get an accurate diagnosis than risk the consequences. If you have a family history of asthma, hay fever or eczema and suddenly develop unexplained rash, see a doctor. If you have an inflammation that doesn’t respond to hydrocortisone treatments within a week, you should also consult your doctor. He will probably recommend a stronger treatment and monitor your condition.

Another sign to beware of is if your existing eczema marks become yellow/brownish and crusty or pus-filled on top of old eczema marks. If you are exposed to anyone that has cold sores or genital herpes while you have a eczema bout, you are at higher risk and should contact your doctor. In all cases, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Baby Eczema is quite common with babies, with approximately 20% of all babies developing eczema. Eczema is a skin rash that usually appears before the baby’s first birthday. In fact, 65% of the people that have eczema develop it in the first year of their life. Baby eczema will usually show up first on their forehead, cheeks or scalp, but it may also be on the legs, arms, chest or anywhere on their body. Baby eczema can be very frightening to new parents that are unfamiliar with the condition.

Baby eczema may look like thick, scaly and dry skin or it can consist of small red bubbly bumps that may blister or ooze. An infection may develop if the rash is scratched too much. Because eczema is very itchy, scratching may become a serious problem. Although baby eczema isn’t contagious, it can be very bothersome to the baby as well as to the parents that are trying to help their baby get through this period.

Even doctors aren’t sure of what causes adult or baby eczema, but it is a well-known fact that although eczema may not be hereditary, the tendency to develop baby eczema may be inherited. In other words, if you or someone else in the family has had allergies such as eczema or asthma, the baby may be more inclined to have baby eczema. Although eczema is not the result of an allergic reaction to any one thing, its onset can be brought on by different allergens in the baby’s diet or environment. It can also be in the diet of the mother if she’s breastfeeding. Different things may aggravate the baby’s rash such as heat or other irritants that are exposed to their skin like chemicals in their lotion, soap or detergent. Dry skin and sudden temperature changes may also aggravate the baby eczema rash.

There are different things your can do to help your baby during their bout with baby eczema. It’s very important that their skin not be allowed to become too dry. Bathing is known to help babies with eczema, but don’t let the water become too warm because warm water tends to dry the skin out. Use very mild fragrance-free soap and shampoo and do the shampooing at the end of the bath so they don’t have to sit in soapy water. After the bath, dry them off very gently and apply plenty of cream, lotion or moisturizing ointment. Your doctor can recommend the best creams for your baby based on the age and seriousness of the eczema.

Dress your baby loosely in cotton clothing. Avoid using materials like wool, which can aggravate the skin. Rapid temperature changes can make the eczema worse as well. Remember that allergens in your home such as animal dander, dust mites or pollen can trigger baby eczema or worsen it. You may want to vacuum more often and use air filters in your home. As hard as it may seem, you and your baby will get through this.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. If this is true, than everything should include pictures. When we’re dealing with health issues, pictures can be very helpful. This is especially the case with pictures of eczema. Eczema is a skin condition that consists of small itchy little bumps or blisters on your body. The blisters can be scaly, oozing, brownish or thick. In some cases, the blisters may merge with each other and appear to be many large blisters or lesions. Each case of eczema is different. Pictures of Eczema can be very important in diagnosing eczema. Although doctors are well aware of what eczema looks like, they’ve learned a lot from seeing their patients through the years as well as viewing pictures of eczema.

Eczema is often referred to as atopic eczema. Atopic is when there is a tendency of inflammation of the skin and linings of the lungs and nose to develop. Atopic eczema if often present in families that have allergies such as asthma, hay fever or other sensitive skin. Atopic dermatitis or eczema is common all over the world. Although it can occur at any age, it most commonly affects children from infancy to young adulthood. The itchy rash can be localized to a small area on the body or it can be widespread. Pictures of eczema have shown many varieties of this annoying skin condition.

Today the internet is a wealth of information for many. With medical costs rising as if they are combined with the many health insurance cuts, people are very conscientious of how often they go to the doctor. Unlike it’s a serious condition, many are choosing to investigate on their own either through the internet or at their local library. Although eczema can be very bothersome and embarrassing to many, it’s not a serious condition. For this reason, many choose to investigate on the internet, trying to find all the helpful information they can find to help medicate themselves. This is where pictures of eczema prove to be very helpful.

Pictures of eczema are especially helpful if the patient has never had this skin condition before. At the first onset of the condition, the patient may become very worried, not knowing what is wrong. Looking at pictures of eczema as well as other skin conditions make it easier to know what’s wrong, therefore, making treatment easier.

Even patients that see their doctor about their eczema are sometimes worried that they look worse than they should. This tends to get them stressful. Most skin conditions, eczema included, can be affected by and become worse with stress. By showing the patient pictures of eczema, the patient can be assured that their symptoms are not unusual for this condition, thus making them feel more confident.

If you’ve been diagnosed with eczema, you’re probably relieved to finally know what has been causing you all the discomfort and embarrassment. Your doctor or dermatologist will first explain what type of eczema you have and then he’ll go over eczema treatments with you. The type of eczema treatments will depend on the type of eczema, your medical history and the severity of your symptoms. The main goals of the eczema treatments will be to reduce the skin inflammation, control itching, loosen and remove scaly lesions, clear any infections and prevent or reduce new lesions.

It’s important to realize that there is no miracle or instant cure for eczema and you may have to try a few different eczema treatments before you find one that is working effectively. Most doctors and dermatologists have found that a combination of different therapies seems to be more effective in treating eczema. One recommendation your doctor will make will be for you to make some lifestyle changes. This may not cure the eczema, but it may prevent you from having future flare-ups as well as reduce any possible side effects you may have from the prescribed medications.

Your doctor may give you your preference as to eczema treatments or medication. One of the most common treatments is topical medication or steroids. Topical medication is medication that is applied to the skin such as creams, lotions and ointments. Topical steroids my be over-the-counter hydrocortisone creams or stronger steroids that require a prescription. Strong steroids are usually avoided with children, however. Some of the common steroid creams include Dermatop, Cutivate, Locoed and Elocon. Side effects such as stretch marks and skin thinning may occur if these are used too long. Many patients prefer to use topical medications without steroids, in which case, they often use Elidel or Protopic. These are considered quite safe eczema treatments for children and can be applied on the face, unlike the stronger medications. They are also effective in preventing flare-ups when they are applied at the first sign of itching or the rash.

Another type of eczema treatments that are often used are antihistamines. Antihistamines are quite effective as eczema treatments. One reason for this is that eczema is often thought of as being allergy-related. They are also recommended for children because they help the child to rest better at night without itching. Benadryl and Atarax are two medications that work well. Applying cold compresses also helps to relieve itching. In more severe cases, your doctor may recommend ultraviolet light therapy and phototherapy. Although, these are effective, there is always the risk of cancer when using UV Rays.

.

Congratulations! You have taken the time to find the right product to clear your face of acne. Now, you can concentrate on getting rid of your acne scars and be proud of your complexion.

Just how you treat your acne scars will depend both on how severe the scarring is and how much of your face it covers. It is important to consult with your dermatologist about the treatment that is best for you. Here are some options you may wish to discuss with your doctor:

• Chemical Peel: A chemical solution is applied to the skin. It causes the old, scarred skin to blister and peel off and new skin to replace it. This may be a good option if your scarring is not severe.
• Dermabrasion: A rapidly rotating brush is used to remove the top layer of skin and scars. Dermabrasion is effective but can be painful and require a long recovery time. It is most useful for raised scars.
• Laser Resurfacing: This popular technique uses lasers to remove the top layers of skin and allow new skin to grow over the scar. It is important to diligently follow a post-laser skin care regimen so that acne scars do not return.
• Punch Technique: This surgical option, done under local anesthesia , uses a punch tool to remove the scar. The skin is then stitched back together leaving a much less noticeable scar.
• Subcision: This method uses a needle to break up the fibrous bands that cause some sunken acne scars. It raises the scars to the level of the rest of the skin.
• Augmentation: The scars are injected with fat or collagen to raise them to the level of the rest of the skin and make them less noticeable.

These are just a few of the many options available to you. All have a different degree of invasiveness and post-treatment commitment. When you decide on the treatment that is right for you, you need to take into account which one is right for your type of scarring, the invasiveness of the procedure, the cost of the procedure and the follow up commitment for that procedure.

Acne scars are not something you have to live with. There are many options available to you that can restore your skin to show a healthier more vibrant face. Take the time to research your options and consult with your dermatologist so that you make a decision that is right for you.

Eczema is a skin condition that we’ve all heard of from time to time. Some of us may have even developed eczema and not realized it. We may have though we were allergic to some allergen or had acne. If you look at eczema pictures, they can often help you determine if you have eczema. There are many different skin conditions that resemble eczema so if you think you may have eczema, pictures may help you know with more certainty.

Eczema looks different with each individual. Although, it most often develops in young children, it can occur in teenagers and young adults, particularly if they’ve had occurrences of it in the past. In some individuals, eczema will have the appearance of bubbles and the bubbles may ooze. In others, however, it may just appear as dry, red and extremely itchy skin. You could look at eczema pictures of two individuals and they may look completely different. Either way, the result is the same: extreme discomfort and a lot of itching.

Young children that suffer from eczema experience the physical discomforts caused by this skin condition, but not the emotional discomforts experienced by older children and teenagers. For teenagers that suffer from eczema, pictures are something they try to avoid. They tend to feel self-conscious, which causes stress, which can make the itching worse. It’s important to get treatment for eczema at the first onset before it gets worse. Although scratching is the first thing children are going to want to do, try to avoid any scratching. Repeated scratching can cause the rash to spread and become worse, often causing scarring.

Individuals with eczema should be seen by a doctor or dermatologist that can prescribe some sort of treatment. They can also show some eczema pictures to children to reassure them that they are not the only ones that have ever had this annoying condition. Looking at before/after eczema pictures can also give them assurances of the fact that they will heal and look normal again. Since eczema can come in mild, moderate or severe cases, these eczema pictures may help the patients better understand what type of condition they have.

Eczema pictures are also helpful for those that may feel they have eczema and actually have a different skin condition. Treatment in any type of skin condition is important in the early stages. Therefore, it’s important that they get the right kind of treatment for the right condition. Some patients that have repeated reoccurrences of eczema are aware of what it is and what to do. Not all individuals experience this, however. The internet has many informative websites regarding eczema and any detailed information you may want to know, including some informative eczema pictures.

There are many acne products that you can use when trying to fight blemishes. You may have seen many brand name skin care products on the shelves that tell you that you can get clear skin in a week. Some of these acne products work for people and some of them do not.
Whether these acne products works for you all depends on how your body reacts to medication. If you take the acne product and use it, you may see improvements right away. On the other hand, you may use it and see no change except that your face looks irritated and dry. This irritation and dryness that occurs with medication can even cause you to have more outbreaks.
You can try to use moisturizer to help the problem with the dry skin. This could help your blemishes as well since many times acne is fueled by dry skin problems. A healthy skin is one that is well moisturized and clean.
Clean does not mean that you need to wash your face many times a day. This will actually cause acne to get worse. However, you need to clean your face two times a day to remove any oil, pollutants from the air or make up. If you do not what is left on your face could result in bacteria that seeps into your pores.
There are always bacteria in your pores; this is actually what the acne products are trying to rid of when you put the lotion on your face. The cream will go into the pores and start to eat at the bacteria. If it is able to get through it you will end up with a pimple free face.
Bacteria are not the only cause of acne. Hormones play another major role in having acne. This is why adolescents have a difficult time with their skin. Hormones are raging during this period and the result is blemishes. Acne products are usually quite effective for those who have zits caused by hormones. Usually the zits last for a short time and once they have gotten over the hump of being a teenager, their blemishes are gone. Until that time, topical medications that you find over the counter seem to help dry up current pimples and help prevent future outbreaks.
If outbreaks continue to happen then some people will forget the acne products in the store and seek out the advice of their dermatologists. Dermatologists are able to prescribe medications that you take orally to help fight the bacteria in pores. They also have stronger medications that may work better than the ones in the store.
